Spring Break

Here's a few pictures from my Spring Break this year. Fun times with the family.

I finally got to see my Marley Mae! She got big!

Well there goes Spring Break for me, it happened much too fast! Nathan picked me up on Friday the 12th and took me home. I spent the week with his family, The Gerhardts, and it was wonderful!! I finally got to see our puppy, Miss Marley Mae! She is beautiful and very cheerful with those she knows. On Friday the 18th, we drove down to Humboldt County, with the family, and spent Saturday on the beach. We also went to view the Redwoods, as the younger Gerhardts had never seen them before. Marley Mae loved the ocean, she is defiantly a water dog!! And not afraid to stick her whole head under water!! It was a wonderful time! We did much, including, golfing, sewing, and drinking lots of tea and coffee! They even gave a little dinner for me, since no one will be there for my birthday this year. (This all happened before we drove down of course). I was sad to leave. I can't wait 'til May, when I finally get to go home!!

Nathan tries to get in as much rock climbing as possible, he loves it!

Sorry, no pictures of the forest giants. :( Willow, Nathan's youngest sister, had the other camera and I forgot to ask for the pictures before they left.

New Isaac photos to share

Here are new pictures of our fast growing silly boy! He's 5 months old now, weighing in at a hefty 17 lbs. He just started sitting up with some help of pillows to catch his tumbles. He loves being outside and taking walks, going anywhere social, and smiling at EVERYONE! He's a sweetie and has a content personality (for now) and is a great sleeper! Maybe he got the best of both of us (we can pray)! We love you all and wish you a Merry Christmas. Can't wait to see you in July 2011 at the Family Reunion. We're grateful to have David and Wendi back--enjoyed spending Thanksgiving with them--now that they are so close! What a blessed year it has been. God bless in 2011--come visit anytime!
Love,
Jen, Andrew, and Isaac

We're Engaged!!!

Hello all! Well, here it is, it's official!! Renuka Jane Phillips and Nathan Cristobal Gerhardt are engaged. We are so excited and we hope that everyone, in our respective families, will share in our joy! Nathan and I have known for quite some time that it is God's will that we should be married. We have spent many months praying and planning, laughing and crying, praying and crying, and also just relaxing, all for this. We want to officially announce to all the clans, (Lyons, Gerhardts, and Phillips) that we are engaged to be married! We are so very happy and we hope that all of you will partake in our joy and the delight of finding that one person that God created just for you. We are so very happy and find it so amazing that a love like ours is possible. God's wonders are never-ending and his ways surpass comprehension. As of yet there are no finalized plans, i.e. wedding date. God has been teaching us, and me particularly, that we can do nothing if not through him. We ask for his guidance everyday. We also ask for the wisdom of our elders and their advice. This is an exciting but big step in our lives, and we would really appreciate any helpful input.
We love you all so much! Nathan is very excited to join the Lyons clan. :) He has no idea what he getting himself into! But I do, and I know he will love all of you as much as I do! God Bless

Love you All!!! Nuka Jane

By the way, if anyone was wondering, I am holding a very young great horned owl(that's a rare beast in the background, very dangerous!) and Nathan is holding an adult spotted owl, which are endangered!!! :)

Isaac Andrew Lyons!

Hiall...why does no one post here anymore? Will we see you at the Family Reunion in July 2011? If so, you'll get to meet Isaac, the newest Lyons addition. I think he makes Grandchild #17 for Art and Suzy!

After a whirlwind 2 months, here are a few photos we thought we'd share of our happy baby boy. He's doing great...currently 13.5 lbs. and 23" long--they grow fast! He's even started sleeping through the night. Yeah!! Can't wait until he belly laughs. Andrew says his smiles make his day...we think he's pretty cute if you can't tell!
Love,
proud parents Andrew and Jen

Baby blessing bloats the belly!

I assumed you'd all like to see the progress of your new cousin/niece/nephew/grandchild. I'm 27 weeks today and we're headed to Kauai to celebrate a bit of a "babymoon" before our lives will change FOREVER (or at least the next 20 years or so!) We're excited and slowly getting ready for the "new addition". We decided to be surprised on the sex, so you will just have to wait until June 22, or whenever the little Lyons decides to make it's entrance. We'll post some Hawaii photos when we get back--we were very motivated by Jordan and Michael's photos--counting down the days until we, too, could see those waves and beautiful waterfalls/sunsets!

The toolbelt with baby necessities was a fabulous gift idea from a friend who said she hoped it helped with our "new addition!" The outdoor photo shoot was FREEZING...thus, the fake smile!

As you can see, our priorities are a bit out of wack--Andrew found a great deal on a baby backpack carrier last weekend at our local sport shop; thus, we can carry the baby in the mountains, but it has NOWHERE to sleep!! Hopefully in the next few weeks we'll purchase a mattress! Everything else has been given to us--what a blessing! People are so generous--enjoy your springbreaks and hopefully we'll see you sometime this spring/summer either pre-or post-baby!
